“Joivy Haymarket presents an interesting contrast: a Victorian townhouse delivering a modern, self-service experience, close to Haymarket Railway Station. While the self-check-in and location near attractions like Edinburgh Castle appeal, reports of unavailable rooms and unresponsive service-even over something basic like a malfunctioning toilet-give me pause; those hiccups could seriously sour a trip.”

acceptable stay near haymarket

original features cute staff dim lighting dirty carpet
the building has preserved many original features, which i admired. a staff member was present and very cute, made check-in smooth. using a phone as both the building and room key is quite ingenious..
the room lacked sufficient lighting with only one dim orange light. i also noticed the flooring seemed hazardous, possibly due to a broken panel under the carpet. the carpet needs replacing as it looked quite dirty.

Haymarket Stay

excellent location short walk convenient access
The hotel's proximity to Haymarket Station simplified my travel. I found many restaurants and pubs just a short walk away. Access to the hotel was convenient from the airport by bus or train. The neighborhood felt quiet and peaceful at all hours.
I encountered issues with the self-check-in system. The electronic door handles sometimes did not respond on the first try. I heard that another guest had difficulty with their door. This required the staff to come to the hotel to assist.
Rooms
9/10
The room was large with a comfortable bed. The shower was very nice, and it had a rainfall feature -. The room size was suitable.
Service
10/10
I sent a few questions using the chat function and received replies within minutes. The information provided was clear and helpful. This efficient communication was very effective.
Dining
8/10
The common room areas had amenities that included a coffee machine. The provision of complimentary coffee and tea at the entrance was appreciated. I found this to be thoughtful.

convenient location complimentary coffee quiet room electronic access dark room bathroom ventilation
the location was really convenient. it was a short walk to the tram stop and train station. the shared kitchen had complimentary coffee and fruit.. a nice touch. i found the room to be very quiet,.
the electronic access system was a bit frustrating to use at times. i had some trouble getting into the building initially. the room i stayed in was in the basement. it felt a bit dark and smelled stale. the bathroom lacked ventilation, which i found to be an issue.

decent stay near haymarket

convenient location shared kitchen unmanned place luggage storage
the location is very convenient (close to transport options). the room had a shared kitchen with a coffee machine and a fridge. it was useful for preparing simple meals. fresh fruit was available.
the place is unmanned and check-in relies on a website or code. this system can be less convenient than having a physical key. also, there was no luggage storage available.
